The kids were too busy running around or getting distracted by other fun activities to mess with the decorations. Also, while there is a raised bed, we were able to sleep on futons laid out on the tatami floor, which was a big help for us with small children. The decorations were wonderful, and even the adults had a lovely time—everyone, both adults and children, enjoyed themselves. It was one “Wow!” after another. They paid such close attention to even the smallest details, and it was such a wonderful time to take my time looking at the artwork while chatting with my friends. The decorations also carry meanings from the Ryukyu Kingdom era, so it was a great way to learn about history—it really made me realize that even though I live in Okinawa, there are still so many charms I haven’t discovered yet.
