Enjoy history and culture in a colorful space decorated in a style reminiscent of the Ryukyu Dynasty! Have an unforgettable stay in Ryukyu.
I stayed at “Ryusai-kan,” a hidden retreat from the Ryukyu Kingdom located in Yanbaru, Okinawa!! I was able to escape my daily routine, immerse myself in a world apart from the ordinary, and enjoy a truly exhilarating time. Also,
While sensing the aesthetic sensibilities and energy of our ancestors within the timeless worldview of the Ryukyu Kingdom, the owner’s refined taste and the SDGs—which preserve the best of the past—made me feel so welcome that I found myself wanting to return again and again. (Woman in her early 70s)
I was deeply impressed by the ideas and designs, each one meticulously crafted with great attention to detail. The space, which evokes the nobility and hospitality of the Ryukyu Islands, offers a serene and leisurely atmosphere where time flows gently,
In a world apart that made me forget my hectic daily life, I was able to spend a wonderful moment that helped me rediscover what’s truly important to me. (Woman in her late 40s)
As you step into the entrance hall of Ryusai-kan, you’ll be greeted by a lustrous “Yushin Phoenix” and transported back in time to the era of the Ryukyu Kingdom.
The handmade decorations found throughout the building are both innovative and
We could feel the warmth and really immerse ourselves in the unique atmosphere. Thank you so much, Ryusai-kan, for making our group of travel enthusiasts so happy.
When I brought up the details of the trip with another group of friends, they all agreed—seeing is believing!
It looks like I'll be able to stay there again, and I'm really looking forward to it. (Woman in her late 70s)
I finally went to Ryusai-kan, a place I’d been curious about for a while! The atmosphere was different from the photos I’d seen on Instagram, and my friend who came with me and I both agreed that it was definitely better in person.
We were talking about it. From the photos, I’d imagined it would be a flashy space, but it actually had a dignified, stately, and calm atmosphere. Spending time in a space like that—which you rarely get to experience—was truly special! I’m thinking of using it for a photo shoot next time ♪ (Male, early 40s)
There were seven of us in total—our family of four and my sister’s family of three. I was a little worried that the kids might break some of the decorations if they played with them, but since the room was so spacious,
The kids were too busy running around or getting distracted by other fun activities to mess with the decorations. Also, while there is a raised bed, we were able to sleep on futons laid out on the tatami floor, which was a big help for us with small children. The decorations were wonderful, and even the adults had a lovely time—everyone, both adults and children, enjoyed themselves. Next time, I’d like to visit when it’s the right season to play in the ocean or river. (Woman in her early 30s)
When I heard that Ryusai-kan had been completed, I went to visit with a friend who had been looking forward to it. It was my first time staying at an accommodation that truly felt like an art museum; every room was an art space, and every time I walked into one,
It was one “Wow!” after another. They paid such close attention to even the smallest details, and it was such a wonderful time to take my time looking at the artwork while chatting with my friends. The decorations also carry meanings from the Ryukyu Kingdom era, so it was a great way to learn about history—it really made me realize that even though I live in Okinawa, there are still so many charms I haven’t discovered yet. The terrace was beautiful, too, and I thought it was a great perk that it can accommodate large groups. I highly recommend this place not only to tourists but also to Okinawans! I definitely want to stay here next time, and I’d love to see the starry night sky too. (Woman in her early 40s)
